Why Seniors Should Exercise Regularly

Why Seniors Should Exercise Regularly

It is important for senior citizens to exercise on a regular basis in order to maintain their health and to stay independent. This is where Helping Hands Health Care can assist you, the recognized Home Care Service Provider in Hawaii. We specialize in helping senior citizens live their lives easier at home, and one way to do that is by providing the support they need to exercise safely. Here are some of the benefits of exercising at an advanced age:

  • Stronger: One of the primary benefits that you can enjoy from exercising in your golden years is the enhanced physical strength. At first, it can be a challenge to exercise or to do physical activities, especially if you are not used to it. However, over time you will notice that you are getting stronger. You are able to do more physical activities or go even farther than what you did before. This can help you maintain your independence and keep you living the life you want to the fullest.
  • More Energy: Another advantage that you can enjoy from exercising is an increase in energy. As you exercise, your body will become more adapted and used to the physical activities you are doing. At first you will feel exhausted but eventually, you will notice that you actually have more energy than before. You are able to walk or jog longer or do the things you want without getting exhausted.
  • Better Health: Exercise can help prevent a number of serious and life threatening health conditions such as heart attack or stroke. Making sure that you exercise regularly will not only keep you young so you can keep doing what you love, but it will also help you live longer.

If you are finding it difficult to exercise at first, we will provide you with the services and the support you need to push for a better life at home. The state of Hawaii has determined that most caregivers are considered employees and in order to LEGALLY hire and pay your OWN caregiver, you must have a company established with State and Federal tax ID numbers. In addition to their hourly pay you must also pay for Workers Compensation Insurance, Temporary Disability Insurance, General Liability Insurance, and if the caregiver works more than 20 hours per week you must also provide medical insurance for each caregiver. Therefore; choosing an established agency such as Helping Hands Healthcare is an affordable and easy solution that will save you time, money, and relief from being in violation of State and Federal Labor Laws.
